Sydney to Gold Coast Yacht Race | 31 Jul – 03 Aug 21 | 5 Days | Training & Race
The Noakes Sydney Gold Coast is the opening act of the Audi Centre Sydney Blue Water Pointscore, which includes the momentous Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race. The CYCA are expecting to welcome more than 70 yachts to the starting line.
What to expect on the water:
The 2021 Noakes Sydney Gold Coast Yacht Race starts on Saturday 31 July 2021 off Point Piper on Sydney Harbour, before heading north and finishing off to the Main Beach at the sunny Gold Coast in Queensland, following a 384-nautical-mile journey. At this time of year, the North Coast of New South Wales can experience a vast array of weather conditions which proves a challenge for all navigators.
Your experience onboard Eve will start on Saturday preceding the race around the breathtaking Sydney Harbour to give you a chance to familiarise yourself with the area, the boat and to settle into roles before the regatta. During the training day, you learn about safety onboard, race crew roles, practice the basics of sailing including main, mizzen and jib set, tack, gybe, reef, downwind pole, asymmetric and symmetric spinnakers packing, hoisting, trimming and mizzen staysail.
Staying onboard before and after the race is possible but limited, please enquire as early as possible. You should plan to fly out of Gold Coast Airport on or after 3rd August. Eve will be welcoming the crew for the next race: The Brisbane to Hamilton Island Yacht Race!
Previous sailing experienced is preferred but not compulsory. We usually have onboard 4 professional sailors to provide you with expert advice and assistance, if required.
