What to do

No previous experience required

We will spend a whole day at the dock or at anchor to familiarise the crew with the yacht, safety equipment and procedures, and role on board.

We also recommend you to complete an Offshore Safety and Sea Survival course before you go. Please contact us for further information.

During the passage, you will have the opportunity to learn:

  • Pilotage and offshore passage planning
  • Watch systems and leading
  • Boat handling in all conditions
  • Sail planning and trim
  • Safety equipment and procedures
  • Offshore navigation and nautical charts
  • Preparing for heavy weather
  • Man overboard procedures
  • Watch keeping/night passages
  • Crew management and the role of the skipper

We will at least two experienced professional sailors onboard who will gladly take your offshore sailing skills to the next level. We are here because we want to share our love of the open sea on one of the best ocean boats ever built.

After contacting us, you'll be asked to fill up a crew form to which we'll reply within 24 to 48 hours. (unless we're at sea in which case we'll get back to you as soon as we land)

What to expect

  • SAFETY FIRST!
    We have put in place a series of routine that we'll go over in depth on the induction day which includes
    -Man Over Board recovery procedure
    -Manoeuvre procedure
    -Be careful down bellow where the odds of getting injured are surprisingly higher than on deck 
    -Importance and location of 'Sea-Cocks'
    -Etc. We will get more in depth in the lead up emails and on the induction day
  • Each crew will be assigned a single berth. This is based on a first in, first served.At sea, in certain extreme conditions, we may rotate where people sleep ('hot-bunking'), but your bunk remains yours.You'll be able to store your belonging into a cupboard adjacent to your bunk
  • Shared wet locker to hang out your wet weather gear

Your crew package includes:

  • Experienced skipper and crew
  • Full provisions on board during passage and lunch/snack whilst training
  • Eve crew shirt
  • Marina fees
  • automatic PFD's ( personal floatation device)  equiped with personal AIS  (Man Overboard recovery)
  • Double tether
  • Bedding, pillow and towel 
  • Fuel
  • Online tracking via Eve Tracker

Your crew package excludes:

  • Accommodation and meal ashore
  • Flights and transport to and from departure and arrival ports and visas
  • Alcohol
  • Toiletries
