Eve will be participating in a variety of competitive sailing race formats, depending on where she is located. We plan on participating at some of the most prestigious regattas in the world on most continents .
Your experience onboard Eve will start two days before the regatta to give the crew a chance to familiarise themselves with the boat and to settle into roles before the regatta.
Unlike the offshore racing, the day regatta involves a lot of manoeuvres which include quick tacks, jibes, hoyst, peels, drops etc. not familiar with all those procedures and terminology? No worries! We usually have onboard a minimum of 4 experienced sailors to provide you with some training, advice and assistance.
Our captain Ben is a very competitive sailor, and will be providing you with pro tips on strategy and tactics during the detailed briefing and debriefing before and after each race.
Those regattas are ideal for a beginner wanting to seriously get into sailing. Even if you only plan to cruise, racing is a great way to learn sail handling, trimming and all the manoeuvres that you’ll be doing on any types of sailing boat, the only difference is that not only you will learn the steps to a tack, but also how to do it very efficiently while losing minimum amount of speed.
